The next Astronomy on Tap event will take place on Monday, March 9th at Firefly Restaurant & Game Room from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Firefly will be open starting at 5:00 pm and serving food and drinks throughout the event. Please share the public (non-Facebook) event page and public Facebook event page with everyone you think may be interested.

As usual, there will be talks & trivia aimed at a general audience, and the event (as always) is free to attend. If clear, there will also be the opportunity for telescope observing during/after the event. There will be talks by UVA Astronomy graduate student Anna Dignan and NRAO’s Chris De Pree (Assistant Director, Spectrum Management). Find their talk information below. The National Radio Astronomy Observatory is a facility of the U.S. National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.
	Founded in 1956, the NRAO provides state-of-the-art radio telescope facilities for use by the international scientific community. NRAO telescopes are open to all astronomers regardless of institutional or national affiliation. Observing time on NRAO telescopes is available on a competitive basis to qualified scientists after evaluation of research proposals on the basis of scientific merit, the capability of the instruments to do the work, and the availability of the telescope during the requested time. NRAO also provides both formal and informal programs in education and public outreach for teachers, students, the general public, and the media.
