Church of San Pedro

The Church of San Pedro is a Chilean National Monument. It was built in 1641 of adobe, a traditional white brick made from local clay and sand. The wooden roof beams are lengths of carob trees lashed together with leather, and the roof is tiled with strips of the giant cardon cactus (similar to the "saguaro" in the southwestern United States).

Amazing at it sounds, no nails were used in the construction of this church.
