The U.S. National Science Foundation National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NSF NRAO) is proud to announce the appointment of Jeff Hoehn, MPA, as its new Director of Advancement, expanding the Observatory’s capacity for partnership and philanthropy across New Mexico and the nation.
Hoehn, a long-time Albuquerque resident and seasoned nonprofit leader, brings more than 15 years of executive experience advancing programs that strengthen New Mexico communities. As Executive Director of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation and then Cuidando Los Niños, Hoehn guided major capital campaigns, broadened statewide services, and built enduring collaborations between public, private, and nonprofit sectors. A “Double Lobo” graduate of the University of New Mexico, Hoehn holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration, and he is widely recognized for his strategic leadership and deep understanding of New Mexico’s civic and policy landscape.
In his new role, Hoehn will launch a major capital campaign supporting the construction of NSF NRAO’s new comprehensive STEM learning center at the U.S. National Science Foundation Very Large Array (NSF VLA) site. The new facility will serve as a hub for scientific innovation, community engagement, and workforce development, engaging thousands of New Mexico students each year, and reinforcing NSF NRAO’s commitment to doing world-class science right here in New Mexico.
“I’m honored to step into this role and help grow the partnerships that make scientific discovery possible,” Hoehn said. “New Mexico is home to some of the most visionary science in the world, and it’s deeply rewarding to continue building those connections in the place I call home.”
“Jeff’s leadership bridges the Observatory’s global mission with its New Mexico roots,” said Tony Beasley, NSF NRAO Director. “He brings a powerful combination of strategic fundraising experience and a lifelong commitment to strengthening New Mexico communities.”
