Very Large Array – Spring Open House

April 1, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm MDT

Please join us for a free day of tours and talks at our first open house event since we shutdown in March 2020! This event will take place, Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 9am – 4pm. NRAO staff will be on site all day to answer any and all of your questions.

Guided tours given by NRAO scientist and engineers will every half hour between 10am – 3pm.

There will also be short talks by guest experts in both the morning and repeated in the afternoon:

10am “How the VLA Works” by George Moellenbrock, Scientist (repeated at 1pm)
11am “Visualizing the Cosmos” by Sophia Dagnello, Graphic Artist (repeated at 2pm)
12pm “The Sharpest Telescopes in Astronomy are Clocks” by Dillon Dong, Jansky Fellow (repeated at 3pm)

And for the first time ever, we will have food trucks selling coffee, Navajo tacos, Navajo burgers, fry bread, snow cones, and more!
