Question:

Hi, I am conducting research on the true angular sizes of multiwavelength objects. I am looking for objects that have an angular size of at least 1 degree, but especially looking for images that are several degrees across.

I have already used a wonderful NRAO image of the Virgo Supercluster which is several degrees across, but I am wondering if you can recommend other images that I should consider using? A link directly to the image(s) you recommend would be great, since I can’t seem to find a repository of this type of images on this NRAO website. (Do you happen to have such a link?)

Thanks so much for supporting my research… 🙂

(Feel free to email or call if it’s easier.)

Answer:

I think that your best bet is to use the NRAO Science Images Gallery to search for objects that meet your criteria.  Some of the science images displayed in this archive do not include object size information, but I suspect that you can find that information with some additional online searching.
