A Question About Space Turbulence

-- Antonio | November 9, 2019

Question:

I am wondering if you can show us the ‘Breath of God’. Or what is scientifically called Space Turbulence. I just viewed an image online and wondered if the VLA has seen this image. It has been over a decade since I was last at the VLA. But I pray I will get there the summer of 2020. I am also wondering if you have Posters that can be framed in your gift shop.

Thanks from Los Lunas, New Mexico

Answer:

I think that you are referring to the computer simulation results that were done a few years ago which showed how it worked in our solar system.  With the notable exception of the ESA Cluster satellite measurements of space turbulence done a few years ago, I am not aware of any actual measurements of this solar system plasma turbulence using NRAO telescopes, including the VLA.
