Are Audiology Studies of Communication Sciences a Good Career Path to Becoming a Radio Astronomer?

Question:

Hello, I was wondering if Audiology studies of Communication Sciences is a good path for wanting to become a Radio Astronomer? Or anything with Nasa really!?

Answer:

I believe that students of Audiology in Communication Science are trained in speech-language pathology and audiology. As radio astronomy involves studying the physics associated with objects in the universe, I don’t believe that there are many applicable skills to radio astronomy gained from audiology studies. Any training which involves a strong background in physics and math is the best path to studies in radio astronomy.
