Backyard Astronomy Telescope Recommendation

Question:

Hi, I am looking for a good telescope to show my kid the moon, planets and galaxies if possible.
Can you please advise

Answer:

I still think that the best advice is that given to a related question posted a while back asking for a “starter” telescope recommendation. As that post recommends, a good pair of binoculars are an excellent way to make some fun observations of stars and planets with a minimal investment in equipment.
