How to Record the Signals Detected by a Homebuilt Radio Telescope
Question: Good Day! My Partner and I are planning on making a Radio Telescope, just a small one for our Project. My questions are; How can we record the signals? if its a software based, can someone give us an idea on how to make one? We really need help. Thank you in advance! Clear Skies! — Alaine
Answer: There are quite a few step-by-step guides to building a radio telescope at home, including that from AARL. Most use an analog meter to provide signal level indication. If you want to actually record those signals, you can use something like Radio-SkyPipe, which takes the analog signals produced by your telescope’s electronics and turns them into digital bits and bytes on your computer.
