Looking for Information on How a Radio Interferometer Works

Question:

In radio interferometry, how do the individual telescopes of an array collect data? Do they all collect over a particular frequency range for the same interval of time? If yes, how long is this interval? Do they measure specific frequencies or over a frequency range?

Also, how does a correlator work in an interferometer? How does the output get transformed to a picture?
