Why is Space Cold When Stars Are Hot?

Question:
If stars are hot, why is space cold? I mean i know not all of it is cold, but most of it is…right?

Answer:
When a star’s light energy, like our Sun, falls on an object in space, the atoms that make up the object will absorb some of this energy. When they do the absorbed energy causes the atoms in the object to start moving around, which causes them to produce heat. Since the space between objects is largely devoid of objects to heat-up, space itself ends-up being largely cold.
