What will be the affect/s and effect/s on Earth and the Moon with the increased distance between the two?

Answer:

We recently addressed the reason for the increasing Earth-Moon distance. As the Earth-Moon distance is increasing at a rate of only about 3.78 cm per year, it will take billions of years for the following affects to influence life on Earth. The increasing distance causes the Earth to rotate slower, which will cause its rotation to become unstable, causing the seasons to experience larger temperature swings than we are accustomed to today. As noted above, though, these changes will occur billions of years in the future.
